Email Account Setup
By reflecting your web address, email accounts that are set up through your
website give a professional feel to correspondances with your visitors/customers
. These email accounts will use your domain or subdomain name within the address.
For example, if you use a subdomain name like www.yoursite.primeterritory.com, your
email addresses will look like 'name@yoursite.primeterritory.com.
Or, if you have set up your own domain name like www.yoursite.com, your email
addresses will look like 'name@yoursite.com'. Consistency between
your web address and your email address reassures your visitors/customers that
they are dealing with a representative of your website.

Creating Your Email Account
- From the Dashboard page, select the site you want to set up email for, then click the 'Edit Site' tab -> 'Domain & Email'.
- Click 'Email
Setup' the left menu.
- Fill in the form. When selecting a password, it must be at least 5 characters.
Then, click 'Create Account'.
IMPORTANT: If you use your own domain name, you will not
be able to receive emails until after your DNS for your domain has completed
propagating across the internet. This requires 2 to 5 days to complete from
the time your DNS is changed.

Next, proceed to Sending and Receiving Email and
choose the instructions for your email program.
NOTE:If the Standard Email setup doesn't work for your, try
the alternate Setup instructions. If none of these work, please contact
support by clicking 'Help' on the toolbar. Provide the following
information:
- your email address and its password
- a copy of the full error message you see
- the name of your Internet Service Provider
- which email software program you are using (e.g. Outlook)
Sending and Receiving Email
(Standard Setup)
The following are standard email setup instructions for:
If you are unsure which version of Outlook you have, open your Outlook program
and click 'Help', then click 'About Microsoft Outlook'
and it will show you which version you're using.
NOTE: In the past, the '%' symbol had to
be used instead of the '@' symbol in the email address during
account set up. For the time being, the '%' is still accepted,
but will be phased out in the future.
Web Based Email (mail2web.com)
All members should be able to use the mail2web.com option. This is just a free
service that has worked well when tested. We cannot make any guarantees about
their service.
For this example, we will assume the following account information:
Name: Jane Doe
Email Address: jane@wondertoysinc.com
Password: puppy
Please substitute your own email address and password anytime these
are mentioned.
- Go to www.mail2web.com. You will
see the login screen as shown below. Click 'Advanced Login'.
- Enter the following info:
Server name or IP address: [mail.primeterritory.com]
User ID or Login name: [your email address]
Password: [your email password]
Mail Protocol: POP3
For our example, we would use:
Server name or IP address: mail.primeterritory.com
User ID or Login name: jane@wondertoysinc.com
Password: puppy
Mail Protocol: POP3
Then click on 'Check Mail'.

Outlook 2000
For this example, we will assume the following account information:
Name: Jane Doe
Email Address: jane@wondertoysinc.com
Password: puppy
Please substitute your own email address and password anytime these
are mentioned.
- To set up your email account on Outlook 2000, click on 'Tools'.

- Select 'Accounts'.
- Click on the 'Mail' tab.

- Click on 'Add' and select 'Mail'.
- Choose a 'Display Name' and click 'Next'.
You can enter any text you would like. For our example, we would use Jane
Doe.
- Enter your email address in the box by 'E-mail Address' and
click 'Next'. For our example, we would use jane@wondertoysinc.com.
- Next, select 'POP3' by 'My incoming mail server
is a POP3 server'. For your incoming and outgoing mail servers, enter
'mail.primeterritory.com'. Once you've entered this information,
click 'Next'.
For our example, we'll use:
My incoming mail server is a POP3 server.
Incoming mail (POP3 or IMAP) server: mail.primeterritory.com
Outgoing mail (SMTP) server: mail.primeterritory.com
- Type in your account name. This is your email address. Also enter
your password and check 'remember password'. Do
not check 'Secure Password Authentication'. For our example,
we would use:
Account Name: jane@wondertoysinc.com
Password: puppy
Remember password: CHECKED
Log on using Secure Password Authentication (SPA): NOT CHECKED
- Click on 'Finish'.
- There's just one more step. Double click on your email account. Click on
the 'Servers' tab. Put a check by 'My server requires
authentication' and then click on 'OK'.
If these settings did not work, please proceed to Having

Outlook 2002, 2003 or XP
For this example, we will assume the following account information:
Name: Jane Doe
Email Address: jane@wondertoysinc.com
Password: puppy

Note that there may be slight variations in the button colors and presentation,
but the button names and options are the same for all 3 Outlook versions.
- To set up your email account on Outlook 2002, 2003 or XP, click on 'Tools'
on the toolbar, then click 'E-mail Accounts'.
- Select 'Add a new e-mail account' and click 'Next'.

- Select POP3 and then click 'Next'.

- Next, use these settings:
User Information

Outlook 2007
For this example, we will assume the following account information:

- In Outlook 2007, click 'Tools' and select 'Email
Accounts Settings'.
- In the 'Account Settings' window, select the 'E-mail'
tab, and click the 'New...' button .

- Select 'Microsoft Exchange Server, POP3, IMAP, or HTTP',
and click 'Next >'.

- Check 'Manually configure server settings' and click
'Next >'.

- Select 'Internet E-mail' and click 'Next >'.

Configure your Outlook 2007 for POP3 and SMTP Authentication

Enter your User Information. For our example we'd use:
Your Name: Jane Doe
Email Address: jane@wondertoysinc.com
Enter your Server Information.
Account type: POP3

Outgoing Mail Server: mail.primeterritory.com

- Under the Outgoing Server tab, make sure that 'My Outgoing Server
(SMTP) requires authentication' is NOT CHECKED and click 'OK'.

Outlook Express
For this example, we will assume the following account information:
Name: Jane Doe
Email Address: jane@wondertoysinc.com
Password: puppy

- To set up your email on Outlook Express, click 'Tools'
on the toolbar, then click 'Accounts'.

- Click on 'Add', then click 'Mail...'.

- Choose a 'Display Name' and click 'Next'.

- Enter your email address in the box by 'E-mail Address' and

Vista Windows Mail
For this example, we will assume the following account information:

- In Windows Mail, go to the 'Tools' menu and click on 'Accounts...'.

- Click the 'Add...' button on the right.
- In the 'Select Account Type' window, click 'E-mail
Account' and then click 'Next'.

- In the 'Your Name' window, enter the name you want seen
by your email recipients, then click on 'Next'. In our example,
we'd use:
Display name: Jane Doe

- In the 'Internet E-mail Address' window, enter your e-mail
address, then click 'Next'. In our example we'd use:
E-mail address: jane@wondertoysinc.com
- In the 'Set up e-mail servers' window, select 'POP3'
and enter the e-mail server information.
Incoming mail (POP3 or IMAP) server: mail.primeterritory.com
Outgoing e-mail server (SMTP) name: mail.primeterritory.com

- In the 'Internet Mail Logon' window, enter your information
into the boxes provided. In our example, we'd use:
E-mail username: Jane Doe
Password: puppy
Check the box next to 'Remember password'.
- You should then see the following screen. Check the box beside 'Do
not download my e-mail and folders at this time', then click 'Finish'.

Netscape 7.x Mail
For this example, we will assume the following account information:
Name: Jane Doe
Email Address: jane@wondertoysinc.com
Password: puppy
Please substitute your own email address and password anytime these
are mentioned.
Netscape Mail is a great way to set up your email retrieval. Unfortunately,
on Netscape's newest browser 8.0, this option is no longer offered. You can
go to http://sillydog.org/narchive/full67.php
to get the 7.2 version of their browser if you like Netscape Mail.
- In Netscape, click on 'Windows' and choose 'Mail
& Newsgroups'.
- Select 'Email account' and click on 'Next'.
Or, if you already have an email set up on Netscape Mail, click on 'File'
-> 'New' -> 'Account'.
- Identity: Enter the name and email address appropriate
for this account, then click 'Next'. For our example, we
would use:
Your Name: Jane Doe
Email Address: jane@wondertoysinc.com
- Server Information: Insert the following information:
Select the type of incoming server you are using: POP
Incoming Server: mail.primeterritory.com
Outgoing Serer: mail.primeterritory.com
- User Name: Enter your email address. For our example,
we would use jane@wondertoysinc.com . Then, click 'Next'.
- Account Name: Enter whatever name you want to use to refer
to this account. For our example, we could use jane@wondertoysinc.com or Jane
Doe. Click on 'Next' when you're done.
- Verify that the information you entered is correct. You should have this
information showing:
Account Name: [your email address]
Email Address: [your email address]
Incoming User Name: [your email address]
Incoming Server Name: mail.primeterritory.com
Incoming Server Type: POP3
Outgoing Server Name (SMTP): mail.primeterritory.com

- Go to 'Account Settings' and on 'Outgoing Server' it should have mail.primeterritory.com and the user should be your email account. Under 'Use Secure Connection' choose 'No'

Thunderbird 1.x
For this example, we will assume the following account information:

- In Thunderbird, click on 'Create a new account'.
- Select 'Email account' and click 'Next'.
- Enter the following and click 'Next'.

- For Account Name, enter the name you would like to use
to refer to this account. In our example, we might use Jane Doe. Click on
'Next'.
- You will get a summary of your information. It should be as follows:

and password as in step 1 and click 'OK'.

Entourage
For this example, we will assume the following account information:

If the Account Setup Assistant appears, click 'Configure account manually'.

- From the Home screen go to 'Settings' -> 'Mail' -> 'Accounts' -> 'Add Account'.
- Choose 'Other'.

You may also want your iPhone or iPod Touch to store your “Sent” and “Draft” messages on the server, change this setting by going to

Having Trouble Receiving Email?
(Port 25 Blocked)
Sometimes your Internet Service Provider (ISP) will block port 25 and you won't
be able to connect directly to our outgoing mail server. In most cases, you
can use your ISP's outgoing mail server to send email instead. Your email address
still appears as normal and you won't notice any differences.
Note that the web-based option, mail2web.com, works
for everyone. Please try the standard setup first
and only use these alternate setups if the standard setup doesn't work.
There are several alternate setup options, which are dependent on your ISP.
Setup 1 (AT&T Broadband, Comcast,
Cox, Earthlink, Mindspring, Netzero)
Set up your email according to the standard setup.
If it does not work, try changing to your ISP's Outgoing Server and disable/deselect
any server authentication.
We've listed the Outgoing Mail Servers for some of the most popular ISPs:

If your ISP is not listed and you already have an email account with your ISP,

Adjustments
- On Outlook, click on 'Tools' -> 'E-mail Accounts'. Then,
click on 'View or change existing e-mail accounts' and click
'Next'.

Setup 3 (SBC Yahoo)
Set up your email according to the standard setup.
If it does not work, try the following:
- You can opt out of port 25 filtering for your SBC account at the following
URL http://help.sbcglobal.net/servabuse.php.
- Adjust your settings according to your email program.
Note that the web-based option, mail2web.com, works
for everyone.
NOTE: In the past, the '%' symbol had to
be used instead of the '@' symbol in the email address during
account set up. For the time being, the '%' is still accepted,
but will be phased out in the future.
Outlook 2000 Adjustments
In Outlook, click on 'Tools' and then 'Account'.
Doubleclick on your email account. Click on the 'Servers' tab.
You should have these settings:

Setup 4 (AOL)
Set up your email per our standard instructions.
This may not work as AOL is blocking port 25 for most of its users. Try inserting
smtp.aol.com as your outgoing mail server and then uncheck the box by 'my
server requires authentication'. If this does not work, please note
that the web-based option, mail2web.com, works for everyone.
Ports Used on Our Email Server
If your email program asks you which ports you would like to use for outgoing
and incoming mail servers, the default industry standard settings are the following.
You will not normally be asked for this information.
Incoming POP3 (POP) Mail Server: 110
Outgoing SMTP Mail Server: 25
Note that if you have to use your own ISP's outgoing mail server because port
25 is blocked, you may have to use a port other than 25 to work with your ISP's
server. Please check with your ISP. We use 110 and 25 cannot change them. In
most cases you will not need to change this.
Common Email Problems
The most common errors are due to incorrect setup. Before checking the errors
below, please check all your email settings against our instructions. Then,
check the following error messages for common problems. The green,
bolded text indicates the keywords to look for in your error
message.
Reminder: If your email is set up using your own domain name
(ex. yourname@domain.com and not yourname@webname.primeterritory.com), your email will
only work once your domain shows your site which takes 2 to 5 days from when
your DNS is changed for your domain.
Error message: The following recipient(s) could not be reached:'emailrecipient@hotmail.com'
on 26/07/2005 5:41 PM 501 5.7.1 This system is not
configured to relay mail from <yourname@sitename.primeterritory.com>
to <emailrecipient@hotmail.com> for 28.81.215.51
Indicates you have not checked off 'My server requires authentication'
or 'My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication' during
the setup procedure of your email. Please recheck your settings against the
instructions you were given.
Error message: Keep getting asked for your
Login ID, Password and Domain
Indicates 'Log on using Secure Password Authentication (SPA)' has
a check by it. Please remove the check by this box.
Error message: The connection to the server has failed. Account
'johndoe:mail.yourdomainname.com', Server : 'mail.yourdomainname.com',
Protocol: POP3, Port:110, Secure(SSL): Yes,
Socket Error: 10061, Error Number 0x800CCC0E
Indicates 'Log on using Secure Password Authentication (SPA)' has
a check by it. Please remove the check by this box.
Error message: Keep getting asked for your Username
and Password
There are 4 possible problems:
- Your email account password is incorrect.
You can reset your password by going to 'Edit Site' -> 'Domain & Email' -> 'Email Setup'
and then click on the 'Edit' button by your email and enter
in a new password. Please note that your password always shows as 5 stars
no matter how long it is; this is a security precaution.
- Your account name is entered incorrectly.
Check for any typing or spelling errors.
- Your email account does not exist on your site.
You can check that your email address is correct by logging into your site
and clicking on 'Edit Site' -> 'Domain & Email' -> 'Email Setup'. Make sure
that you have spelled it correctly on your email program to match what you
have here.
- Your account is not specified as POP3 or POP.
Make sure your email account settings indicate your account is POP3 or
POP.
Error message: The connection to the server has failed. Account:
'mail.primeterritory.com', Server: 'mail.primeterritory.com', Protocol: SMTP,
Port 25, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 10060, Error Number:
0x800CCC0E
It appears your ISP (internet service provider) is blocking port 25. Sometimes
your ISP will block port 25 so that you will not be able to connect directly
to our outgoing mail server. Please follow the steps here:

Error message: The message could not be sent because one of
the recipients was rejected by the server. Server Response '550 5.1.1 <jason@supercardeals.primeterritory.com>

Check that you have no typos in your account settings. Also, make sure the
account exists by logging into your site and click on 'Edit Site' -> 'Domain & Email' -> 'Email Setup'.
The other possibility is your domain has not completed propagating. It takes
2 to 5 days for your DNS changes to your domain to update across the internet.
Until this is done, you will be unable to receive email messages and can only
send email messages.
Error message: Your server has unexpectedly terminated the
connection. Possible causes for this include server problems, network problems,
or a long period of inactivity. Account: 'account', Server: 'mail.domain.dom',
Protocol: POP3, Server Response: '+OK 777 octets
.', Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Error Number: 0x800CCC0F
The error message may or may not include 'octets' in it. This
error indicates you have received a corrupted email that needs to be deleted
so the rest of your emails can reach you. Or, that you have received an email
that is larger than our 10 MB limit.
To delete the corrupted email or oversized email, log into mail2web.com as
follows:
How to Access Your Email Account Online

Then, delete the oldest email and close. You should then be able to access
your email like normal. Note that the email marked '1' may
not be the oldest. Their system puts the emails in date order but for each day,
the emails may not be ordered by time of day.
Only if this doesn't work, make sure all critical updates have been done for
your Windows operating system. Go to http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com.
Error message: The connection to the server has failed. Account:
'mary@funforkids.primeterritory.com', Server:'mail.primeterritory.com', Protocol:POP3,
Port: 110, Secure(SSL): NO, Socket error: 10061, Error Number:
0x800ccc0e
Make sure you have selected POP3 as your mail server protocol and that your
incoming mail server is correct. It should be mail.primeterritory.com for your email
accounts. Also, make sure you are connected to the internet.
Error message (specific to mail2web.com): Error: Login Failure.
Please check your email address and re-enter your password.

- You have your own domain name set up with your email and the
DNS has not yet updated across the internet.
If you only recently set up your domain or fixed the DNS to our settings,
your emails will not work until your domain shows your site. Contact our
support team if you're unsure of whether your domain is set up correctly.
- You set up the same email address more than once on your site
and this caused a conflict on our backend.
Try deleting all instances of the problem email address on your site. Then,
recreate the account and try to send and receive email. If it still doesn't
work, please contact the support team.
Still have Trouble?
If you still have difficulty sending or receiving email, please reset your
settings back to the Standard Setup and contact our support team by clicking
'Help' on your toolbar. Provide the following information:
- your email address and its password
- a copy of the full error message you see after trying to send/receive with
the standard setup
- the name of your Internet Service Provider
- which email software program you are using (ex. Outlook)
Adding More Email Accounts
If you have used all the email accounts provided by your site package, you
can always add more. On the Dashboard page, click 'Your Account', then click 'Upgrades'. There is no limit on how many additional email accounts you can add.
Email Space and Restrictions
Your email account has the following space and restrictions:
- The maximum email attachment is 10 MB.
- Your total storage is 10 MB per account. Currently we do not enforce the
10 MB file space limit.
- Emails not collected and download within 45 days may be deleted off our
email server.
- Each email message can only be sent to 50 people maximum (this is the total
of email addresses entered in the 'To', 'CC' and 'BCC' fields).
